PAAS began in 1993 as a program developed by Edward Heckman, R.Ph., for the Illinois Pharmacists Association to meet the growing demands from members for assistance with Third-Party Audits and Contracts. This program grew rapidly and before long, calls were coming from well beyond Illinois borders.
In 1996 Mr. Heckman went national with PAAS to expand his advocacy to assist and protect (defend) community pharmacies from the unilateral dealings they face with PBMs and Managed Care Plans.
